Standard?
I figured villian was on a flush draw after he called two cold on the flop. The ace on the river still scared me a little. Is check/call good here? Gives him a chance to bluff if he missed and saves me from potentially getting bluff raised here.

Re: Standard?
Fold the flop. You have no kicker, a flush draw against you, aggression in front of you AND the possibility of 4 overcards ALL with a very small pot. This hand promises to win you very little or lose you a lot.

Re: Standard?
I like the check raise here. The bet by CO is in all probability positional (given the fold later, this is certainly what it was). With top pair, it's worth cutting off the rest of the field. If you get three bet, call, then fold to a turn bet unimproved.
The fact that MP1 cold called shouts flush draw. I'd fire out here too. All in all, I think this was a good hand. |

If you get three bet, call, then fold to a turn bet unimproved. You'd have to dodge 18 outs (6 nonbroadway spades, 12 broadways) twice. Those will hit well over half the time. Factor in the huge chance that you're drawing almost dead to a higher kicker, I can't see you doing anything but folding this. The fact that MP1 cold called shouts flush draw. I'd fire out here too. All in all, I think this was a good hand. [/ QUOTE ] |

I might lead the flop and see if I can get them to fold the small pot, but otherwise this isn't worth investing much in. |

weak.
I think going for the c/r was fine. If you are able to get this thing HU with CO you are going to win the pot a large % of the time. |

Re: Standard?
A read would be nice. In most situations I would fold this flop due to the pot size and redraws that can destroy your hand. Not to mention the flop raiser could have you outkicked.
That being said, if you know the cut-off to be an aggressive player, you should raise. Given that he just called your raise you are probably right to think you have him beat, and that MP2 is on some type of draw. Turn seems fine. I like the river check/call, given your analysis of the situation. I don't think it makes any sense to bet here. |

I guess I'm a little surrised that multiple people said to check/fold this flop. That never really entered my mind. I can see a case for check/folding the river, but I felt that since I put him on a flush draw and it missed, that I had to see a showdown. Sure, he mightve had KsXs or AsXs and hit a higher pair, but I think I'm good once out of seven here.
Maybe a few others can chime in that mightve missed this post the first time. By the way, he had QsJs for the rivered straight. |
