Default 1/2 MP1 w/A7s

You enter the table with a post in the CO and do not have notes or stats on anyone yet.

In MP1 you're dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and it's folded to you.

Do you fold, limp or raise?

Limp. MP1 isn't the greatest position, but I like suited aces. If there is no raise behind me, I know it's at least three handed, maybe more. Definitely want to see flop with this, but want to see it cheaply due to weak kicker.

I'd open-limp in MP1 and open-raise in MP3. FWIW, I'd also limp UTG.

Depends on the table. If they're loose, not a lot of raises preflop, I may limp in MP. But most of the time I'll fold this.

I would limp with this hand from MP1.

You still have 6 players to act after you, which could provide you with the multi-way action to win a big pot if you get lucky and make a flush.

Also, if the pot becomes short-handed your A7 becomes playable if you connect with the flop.

However, you probably have too many players left to act, to make it worthwhile raising to try to steal the blinds or make the pot short-handed. You would be risking being 3-bet and isolated with a basically speculative hand.

At $1/2 I would fold this most of the time.

You've been at the table about half an orbit? I know there are basically no reads here, but I would limp if there had been a large amount of limpers on the few hands before that. MP1 isn't good enough position for me to want to raise w/ this. I hate the fact that no one is in behind me, so I would have had to see a lot of limpers on the previous couple of hands even to limp. If the table has been aggresive I fold, as I don't want to get raised and isolated.

I'd raise probably and limp possibly.

Since 1/2 is a giant rockfest, I would either raise or fold.

Based on the table I'm playing (or trying to) right now, I would raise. Bigger rockfest than ozzfest.
