Hi,
yesterday, I made my first final table in an MTT playing at the $10,000 guaranteed 30+3 buy-in at Party. This is a hand from the final table, with 6 players left that really bothers me. I don't know if it was the right move or not. I don't have a hand history anymore, but will explain everything as well as possible from memory. I have about T38,000 and villain has me covered with his T90,000. I'm the short-stack at the table with the next person having about T45,000. Blinds are at 2,000/4,000. Villain is UTG and raises to 20,000, which he has been doing several times before from UTG. He did it once before and somebody pushed into him and he folded. I pick up AKs in MP. What is my move? |

well your 2 options here are either reraise or smooth call. The only logical reason for a smooth call here would seem to be a stop-n-go, but since you lack position on the villian a SNG isn't always garunteed.
I think your best play here is to just push preflop. You don't want the blinds coming along in the action, so make it more expensive for them if they really do want to play. The villian in this hand will most likely call your all in, he has the proper odds to call it with pretty much any two cards at that point. The other option I didn't mention would be to fold, but that is not an option, and folding here would be a major major mistake. |

What I did:
I pushed, Villain called with JJ, and eventhough the flop brought 2 of the same color I had, I was not able to outdraw the villain. So, I busted in 6th, but still my best MTT finish so far (only played maybe 10) |
