O8 River play
Please critique any street -- I'm always looking to improve. I am particularly interested in the river play though. Should I have bet?
Thanks in advance, and sorry that I couldn't get the converter to work. --Polly $0.5/$1 Omaha Hi/Lo - Tuesday, June 07, 15:57:08 EDT 2005 Table Table 27465 (Real Money) Seat 9 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 1: Seat 1 ( $38.34 ) Seat 4: Hero ( $45.51 ) Seat 5: Seat 5 ( $8.74 ) Seat 3: Seat 3 ( $25.14 ) Seat 7: Seat 7 ( $21.5 ) Seat 9: Seat 9 ( $20.63 ) Seat 2: Seat 2 ( $55.87 ) Seat 10: Seat 10 ( $23.5 ) Seat 6: Seat 6 ( $10 ) Seat 8: Seat 8 ( $25 ) Seat 10 posts small blind [$0.25]. Re: O8 River play
You should not see the flop with that hand. You cannot make a low and don't have much of anything for high, and you are in early position (note: I would not play this hand on the button either).
On the flop, I would bet hoping to win the pot right there. I would slow down and check the turn, because your hand has pretty much turned into junk. I would definitely check the river, because no one with a worse hand than yours should call, and no one with better hand will fold. |

Re: O8 River play
Because you are in bad position, I would have checked the turn because King is a popular card, and what are these idiots calling that flop for if they don't at least have a king, if not the 4th nine with a better kicker than you? My eye would have been on folding to a bet.
But once they all check around, I think you have to bet the river. 6 is a brick. With all checks, I assume nobody has a king, so the only risk is 9-Q or 9-A ... which the last to act probably doesn't have or he would have bet after the two of you checked. Of course, I'm probably giving these folks way too much credit. After all, the one guy at a-a-2 and didn't raise pf. |

Re: O8 River play
I missed that too. When I saw that seat ten posted the small blind, I figured him for UTG.

I thought when I bet the turn that I'd fold to a raise but the flush draws would pay me. I expected anyone with a K to raise once it paired but thinking back on the hand (and in light of the fact that AA2 was passive enough to call that hand pre-flop) it's not out of the realm of possibility that kings would just call along hoping to fill. As a matter of fact, when both of them called the turn, trip kings is what I expected at least one of them to have so I checked the river thinking about making a crying call if bet into. --Polly |

Re: O8 River play
Sorry about that, seats 1,2 & 3 sitting out screwed me up.
