And, in the case of the United Nations, by "members" we can only be referring, of course, to the Permanent Members of the Security Council.

How do we know that these "war crimes" aren't just a bunch of lies cooked up by the Bush Administration to justify a military invasion to steal the oil? After all, Africa has oil too. I don't know how much oil the Sudan has, but I'll bet there's some.

If it turns out that these "war crimes" didn't really happen, will we be able to condemn the UN as liars even though they were probably just misinformed?

For one thing, nobody in the Bush administration has been calling for regime change and an invasion of the Sudan for years. And, after 9/11, nobody called for blaming the Sudan and an invasion no matter what the evidence showed. And the President hasn't scared us saying there might be a mushroom cloud if he doesn't do anything.

It's interesting to here from liberals why we have a moral obligation to help the people of Sudan and no moral obligation to help the people of Iraq. I can understand someone that supports both, but to be against one and for another seems absurd.

We do have a moral obligation to help the people in the Sudan. We also have a moral obligation to help the people in Iraq. But I don't think we helped them by killing over one hundred thousand of their innocent people.
