Harrington & Raymer at WSOP
If this has been answered before, my apologies, but I haven't seen it. While seeing a replay recently, I saw the exchange with Raymer and Harrington about his glasses. Harrington says, with seeming sincerity, that the angle of the glasses changes when Raymer is bluffing making the reflection change. Quite a tell!
I believe this to have been just a little psychological warfare from the veteran player to the bullying chip leader, but I never saw that confirmed or denied by anyone and the announcers didn't seem to make a guess one way or another. Anyone know the scoop? Again, sorry if this is obvious and Googhle is indeed my friend... |

Re: Harrington & Raymer at WSOP
Well there's really no reason why any pro would make another player aware of what kind of tells he was broadcasting.
So my bet is that it was psychological. |

But, I tend to agree that it was just psychological. Get Raymer thinking more about preventing tells with the angle of his glasses than the actual play at hand. |

Re: Harrington & Raymer at WSOP
IIRC, pretty sure it was just friendly joking. No "psychological warfare" about it.

why do respond with this? do you really expect him to find the answer to this question through google? why be a jerk? his question is actually quite interesting.

Re: Harrington & Raymer at WSOP
I think it was a subtle attempt to get into his head. It's like someone on a golf course telling their opponent that they noticed something wrong with their swing. The opponent starts thinking something MAY be wrong and attempts to correct it, sending his game into a tailspin.

Re: Harrington & Raymer at WSOP
It sounded to me like it was a poor joke from Harrington's dry sense of humor.
