Default Dealer wants a bigger tip

3/6/12 game in Lake Charles... I'm having a good session, winning some nice pots, got a big pyramid of chips in front of me. New dealer arrives at the table.. I win a big hand, and I tip her $1. She loudly clears her throat in front of everybody - indicating she thought my tip wasn't big enough. Me, wanting to keep the atmosphere loose and happy I go along with her and give her another $1, but inside I'm pissed thinking how dare she make me look cheap in front of the other players... which maybe I am but with the $5 rake out of each pot, $1 for the bad beat jackpot, giving a tip bigger than $1 really starts to eat up my bankroll...

Any thoughts/suggestions?

thx.. Allen

Next time I'd tip her nothing. And who cares what the others at the table think, they are *poker players* for crying out loud.

Nice. Not only did you feel cheap, but she also made you look like a pussy when you coughed up another chip.

My advice is to tip however much you feel like. Let everyone else judge it however they want.

I would have said 'Wait a minute, I made a mistake' while waving a $5 dollar chip in my hand and have the dealer give me back the first $1 chip I gave her.

Then I would have said 'Thank you' and kept the $1 dollar chip and not worry about giving any more tips to that dealer.

[/ QUOTE ] We have a winner. I also doubt she was begging for more of a tip.

2 bad dealers at the borg this weekend.
I bought a pot pre-flop. It was a $600 pot but it was fairly quick (QQ re-raised me, I pushed and he folded). I had no whites so I asked for 10 whites and tossed the dealer 2 reds. She said "just give me a red". The player next to me who I don't know from earlier but have been goofing around with says, "drop it" and she drops them. She was a generally bad dealer, not counting bets that were tossed in haphzardly unless asked and having a river box card a few hands later.
Another hand, a player folds his flopped flush draw + gut shot to a push and tells dealer he'll give him 2 bucks to see the next card. Dealer doesn't ask the other player, just flashes the player that asked the turn not showing it to the table and begins to shuffle. The player doesn't tip. Before dealing the next hand the dealer waits and says "you owe me 2 dollars for that rabbit".

topout
