Re: How smart do you have to be to win in 2/4 NL ?
Well since I haven't seen too much of this chaos caused by theredpill I figured I'd actually reply. Couple factors.
1. You have to have a suitable bankroll. If you're 1-tabling I'd recommend at least 1200 in your account at all times. If you're planning on 4-tabling, 2000 is probably not enough. 2. You need hand experience at similar levels. Don't try and jump from the .25/.50 levels to the 2/4 levels, you're going to have plays put on you left and right. I'd spend at least a weak at 100NL, if you do alright there maybe consider a move to 200NL. Try that out for a week, if that goes well, maybe try out 400NL. The goal is to start picking up the betting patterns from the better players as opposed to the idiots you're used to seeing at the .25/.50 tables. 3. Need to be fearless. If you're scared of losing $400, you shouldn't be playing these limits. This is partially tied to the bankroll stipulation but is very important. I'm a very aggressive player and find it very easy to steal from players you can tell do not want to lose $400. And to top it off, you're going to need the skill. The biggest factor in profiting in the higher limit rooms is being able to play small pots on tough boards, laying down overpairs, and maximizing your sets. Hope this helps and let me know if anyone thinks otherwise or has something to add, -Ace |
