Default Two Bottom Set Hands

How should I have played these?

Hand 1:
Villain was an unknown, virtually no stats on him. I obviously thought I was good on the flop. Should I have bet more on the flop/pushed the turn? The river was sort of a crying call.

Hand 2:
In this hand, due to stack sizes, the action, and villains stats, I was actually somewhat afraid of set over set. (Villain, UTG+2, is 19.35% VPIP, 5.21% PFR, 64.29% Won at showdown over 403 hands). I have never folded a hand, or even acted passively out of fear of set over set before -- but, due to stack sizes, stats, etc. I played this hand very passively.

Hand 1: Can't find a fault, you were out to extract the maximum value and you did just that. I like the flat call on the river with that board.

Hand 2: That flat call after the third flop raise got coffee spilt on my keyboard. I can understand your cautiousness against a good player who completely covers your deep stack. If your read was that good then so be it. I remember reading something from Brunson that said a good player should be able to get away from set over set. I'm not there yet.

Interesting post, looking forward to results.
