just started SnGs
5+.50 at pokerroom.
its crazy how much better this is than cash games online. i pissed away money online for a long time then decided to quit.. recently deposited $11 for 2 sngs and now i built it up to $70. 10 SnGs.. in the money 70% of the time questions... is the $10+1 much harder than the 5+.50 tables? how often do you guys place in these 10 people SnGs? i feel like im just on a good run right now. i always play 2 at a time and haven't lost both at once yet. |

Re: just started SnGs
You will be fine in the 10's, but understand that your 70% itm is impossible to sustain. Like the poster above said, a good player should shoot for 40%

Re: just started SnGs
$70 is a very very small bankroll for the $11s. If busting out is going to be a major disappointment, stay in the $6s until you have about $300.

Re: just started SnGs
dang i'm not looking forward to my streak of losses then. another newb question.. how do i calculate ROI?
and $300?? that seems pretty steep.. i need about 30x the buy in? and one more question.. is there any time of day where the games are usually easier? i played late at night yesterday and this afternoon and i felt like the afternoon games were tougher. people were more cautious and once it got to 4 people, it was tight as hell. |

[/ QUOTE ] definitely. there was a time when I had a very small bankroll for the 10+1s, so I moved down to the 5+1s to build up so that I wouldn't have to redeposit. now I am comfortably playing the 20+2s and will be making the shift to 30+3s soon. don't play at the 5+1s too long though, maybe till you have 15-20 buyins for the 10+1s. the rake at the lower limit is killer. |

[/ QUOTE ] you could probably get away with 20, but if you have a bad streak right at the beginning, you are at risk of going broke. ROI = money you got out/money you invested Example, you played 1 and only 1 5+.50, placed 1st, for a total of 25 bucks your ROI would be 25/5.5 or 454% a good ROI to shoot for at low levels is anything 25+, maxing at around 40 for awesome players. |
