5/10 set with a scare card on the river
No reads on villain here. Checking behind doesn't seem optimal, but any bet opens me up to a c/r. Any thoughts on the river or the hand in general?

Re: 5/10 set with a scare card on the river
when an 'obvious' scare card hits the river, and you have position on him and have been leading the whole way, it is a lot less likely villian will go for a check-raise.
so when checked to, it shouldn't be as scary as it may seem, even though it does complete a 4-straight as well. i advocate betting a lot even when it doesn't seem like a worse hand can call you, just because it shows a tendancy to not allow cheap showdowns against you; which is a point i have made in the past. the only hand you are really worried about is 67 that was content with checking the river through or check calling you with a weak straight. nothing wrong with betting 200 here just to frustrate your opponent. |
