$4/8 Limit 9 handed

Hero is in SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villian is in BB, fairly good player with medium stack after winning big pot earlier, doesnt bet/raise too often without decent hand such as top/2nd pair or very strong draw

UTG Fold
+1 Fold
MP,CO,and button call
Hero Completes SB
BB Checks

I think 5 players see flop, which is...
9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero Bets $4
BB raises to $8
MP folds
CO calls
Button folds
Hero Calls

3 players see turn...
KING[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets $8 check instead?
BB villian Raises to $16
CO folds
Hero calls/folds?
Advice welcome

I am sure you realize that your top pair/weak kicker problem would not have happened had you mucked it preflop.

That said hero calls the turn raise. If villain holds case K you have possible split. If he happens to hold a str8 you have outs. Your postflop play is fine.

Id complete if they were suited but playing hands like this ull always run into the problem of being dominated.

I think leading is better than check-raising. You said he raised top-pair hands, second-pair hands, and draws. If you check intending to raise, he will take the free card with the hands you beat, and bet the hands you don't. Then, when you check-raise, you open yourself up to a 3-bet.

After he raises your turn bet, call down.
