Default Where are those monsters?

Is this fold ok? Should I be check calling down here in WA/WB mode? It sure looked like villain (23/5/.45) had trips or at least paired his Ax.

Against this (23/5/.45) villain check-raising you in that spot you won't be running well in the long run. I fold here, too.

A definite fold. I would have played it the same way.

He doesn't have to have paired his Ace. I think he probably didn't or he would have bet it on the flop. The CR on the turn is a little unnerving, but here again, he could have quite an array of hands, some of which beat you and some don't.

If the pot were a little larger it would be a definite showdown situation; call turn, call river, and that's what I'd do here, but I couldn't fault you for a fold to his CR, either.

I dont like aces on the board. To many people play AXo from any where.

I cant say i dont bet that turn...but bet you wish you would have taken the free card .

I would have folded too. he has an ace atleast.

Just so you know the river was going to be a queen.

Seriously good hand. Nothing you can do.

Fold is OK - Most of the time somebody raises on the turn they have better then top pair.

I'd play this the same way you did.

However, for those that c/r on the turn a lot, I sometimes check through the turn and call a river bet. There are no obvious draws on this hand. You are in a way-ahead/way-behind situation. This also extras a bluff bet from the EP player many times when you are ahead (he'd bet middle pair).

I have found this strategy to work a little better at $3/$6 where players love to c/r the turn on bluffs and semi-bluffs, esp heads up.

Like I said, this probably isn't the perfect place to use this (unless you had a specific read), but it's something to think about.

Standard fold against someone this passive. More interesting what if you had A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ? You are almost surely behind but could have hidden outs v. 2 pair hands.
