I'm looking at setting some short terms goals for myself to help me get back into the game as I have been out of it the past two weeks. Maybe you have your own motivations and goals to help reach them. Maybe posting them in public will help reach them as we can harass each other as the time passes. These goals are to be realistic, serious, and acheiveable.
-Play 20k hands well and not be results oriented (edited) -Be ready to move to 3/6 at the end of the month (edited) -One table for a few hours each week and seriously concentrate on what's going on rather than coasting on autopilot -Play more at the Commerce (it's relaxing and I want to be ready to move to 4/8 and 6/12 at the end of the month) -Learn how to avoid going on tilt online which somehow I usually avoid when I play live but don't when I play online -Contribute more to SS <ul type="square"> [*]contribute more to techincal discussion that arise in SS[*]post at least one interesting hand per week[*]get seriously involved in at least three interesting hand posts per week[*]in general, respond to more hands
-Learn how to use Playerview or whatever it is that you people use -Beat Klepton in the Open Challenge -Finish the OIC -Finish getting my confidence back -Pay for the big Vegas trip with profit from the games in Vegas -Continue finding humourous ways to respond to spam, bad beat posts, etc. -Read less OOT -Read Middle Limit Hold'em by Ciaffone/Brier -Go on a date with Mischa Barton Edit: PokerBob and JBB made good points about my first goal so I edited it. |

Play 20k hands at +3.00 BB/100 (and be ready to move to 3/6 at the end of the month) [/ QUOTE ] I think this absurd. Not that you shouldn't want to win (we all do), but that you have winning as a goal. We cannot control if we win. The goal should be to play well. IMO once one can foucs on simply playing well, a huge jump has been made. If you are prone to tilt, worrying about winning is only going to exacerbate that problem IMHO. |

i would actually like to play 8 hours a day. Do you know how rich i would be if i could commit to 8 hours a day? Rich enough to buy that slut you want a date with.

Your first goal is a bad one that will only serve to frustrate. Setting a high winrate over a short number of hands? What's the point? You can't control it. The other goals look great, especially the last one.
