Official No-Limit OIC + Rules! - Start with $25
I saw how much of a success the small stakes OIC was and decided to try it myself playing no limit. I know the variance will be killer, but using the ruleset, you'll at least have 2 buy-ins for every level.
Ultimate Goal is to sit to Mahatma's left and have him double me up! Starting Buyin: 25$ Move a level up after winning 200bb Move down a level if you lose 100bb (not PT bb) .1/.25 Move up after winning $50 etc... .25/.50 Move up after winning $100 1/2 Move up after winning $200 2/4 Move up after winning $800 3/6 Move up after winning $1200 5/10 Move up after winning $2000 10/20 or 10/25 Final Step: 10/25 on UB or 20,000 hands or bust. Whatever happens first. If you complete the challenge, you'll end up with a nice 8k score. Ideally if a few 2+2ers hit a hot streak, it'll give them the BR and confidence to play fulltime at 2/4 or so. GL to all that choose to have some fun and hopefully not lose $25. I'm already down to $15 when I hit my flush on the turn and had to fold when the river brought a 4th spade WAHHH Just like the Original Small Stakes OIC, post results and progress if you choose to enter. Re: Official No-Limit OIC + Rules! - Start with $25
You said two buy-ins / level, so I started with $50.
Of course I'll end up two-tabling the earlier levels anyway... But, it's late (early?) and I'm bored, so wish me luck and good luck to anyone else who is in. PS: I play limit almost exclusively, so I figure this is a good chance to work on some post-flop play and maybe check out some high stakes NL games too. |

Re: Official No-Limit OIC + Rules! - Start with $25
sounds like a good way to start a Monday... I just sat down at a $25NL on Party, so I guess I'm in.
Can someone clarify the one buyin/two buyins thing? |

This sounds like fun, what do you mean by "not pt bb's" do you mean that the bb is not 2x the big blind? What is it then? Thanks.

Re: Official No-Limit OIC + Rules! - Start with $25
I just realized that Party has $25 buyin for .10/.25, but UB has $10 buyin... can I do this on Party? If yes, should I sit down with $10 (ugh) or just take one buyin and try to double it?

i never understood the purpose of these things. sounds like it will do more harm than good to any player who plays it.

Re: Official No-Limit OIC + Rules! - Start with $25
Tried this last week and it didn't work out too well for me to say the least. When I was down to my last buy-in on the 25NL tables I ran into a set, and then 3 hands later lost my last 24 on set over set.
Oh well. So, Since I saw this posted I thought I'd do it again with a group of people. So, been playing a little before work today and was up and down until I played this hand. Called small raise with 44, flop comes out A23 rainbow. I call another small raise just to see if i can hit the straight. I hit a 4 on the turn and raised when bet into. On the river the 2 pairs and I bet out, he puts me all in and I call. He has Pocket Aces and has a much bigger boat. Played a bit after that and caught a few straights for small pots and after 126 hands I'm happy to be down less than 9 bucks. |
