Default Retraining #2

Opponent is a seemingly good TAG.

Party Poker (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls.

Flop: (7 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button calls.

River: (6.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 7.50 BB

My play on this hand is actually to go ahead and blast another bet in on the river... Not saying this is right, but I play pretty aggressive and bet marginally showdown-able hands all the way and what ends up happening is when I have monsters people go ahead and call me with 3rd pair. If you always checkfold with an A up observant players will take shots with missed draws or weaker hands. He raised on the button so you have to discount his hand strength somewhat. Bet again, let him call you with J9 or A3 (or even K7 or 55 if you're lucky). Just my opinion.

he is open raising on the button so he could have a wide range of hands,so i would rather check/fold the river,
i wouldnt like to fold as he could think "this guy has squat" and try to steal it,
i would like to bet as more likely he will fold a worse hand

Against a TAG a check fold on the turn might be good. I think most TAGs fold the flop when they have nothing and won't call the flop and fold the turn except maybe when he has KQ or an other gutshot. It's a tough one though.

Thanks,

Guido
