you're really only ahead of JJ here and the very remote possibility of AT being played by a donkey. i'm inclined to fold this one after his flop checkraise.

This being 100NL on Party, you have to consider the possibility the opponent is indeed a donkey. The purpose of this post is what to do is this spot against a TOTAL UNKNOWN on the Party 100NL tables. Against opposition you know, this is pretty cut and dry. Against an unknown on Party 100NL, it's not so simple.

i fold unless i have a read that he is a donkey. what's the point of risking your whole stack unless you can tell within a reasonable margin of error that you are ahead here. if he wins the hand by bluffing then good, move on. you play 100 hands/hour versus these guys on the 6max tables they will invariably make a mistake again and hopefully by then you have a much more accurate model of your opponent's behaviour.

He does have a pretty big stack.

He raised a lot preflop.

He check-raised you

I would fold.

Although, The mega all-in seem weird to me. Anyone care to analyse why he did that(400 all in when he could just 100)?

Oh what did he has?

the size of the all in bet is not significant. he loses the same and wins the same either way.

oh this was full ring. so 60-70 hands/hr versus these guys. also i find full ring players to have a smaller range of raising hands preflop.

I am not a poker newbie

No I mean why betting 400 when he could bet 100? I think he was protection something ( he makes a scary bet, although it is the same in the end)

seems like a good spot to try to double through if you can. You're at a table with a couple of double the buy in big stacks and you're still at the buy in. roll the dice if you lose rebuy and go at them again.
