Default JTs Blind Defense.

I wasn't sure about this hand. Is the preflop call too loose? Is raising the flop not worth it in this fairly small pot?

Villain was 25/4/1.2 after 70 some hands. I figure my pair of tens wasn't good after the flop 3 bet. CO was 42/5.

Preflop is by me.

I don't really like your flop raise. I'd call and see what develops, and possibly bump him on the turn.

¿Why?

I play it the same, but I'm dumping this on the turn.

EDIT: sorry, misread the hand, dumping the turn would be awfull. still I'm raising the flop

I dunno about raising the flop. SB seems tight and CO is in the hand too so its not exactly blind defense. With those stats I'm going to assume I'm behind on the flop.

I think I like this a lot more if the 8 were a 7 (or other blank)

Assuming you call, and CO folds the flop, then the turn blanks, and you raise his bet, you would be getting about 8-1 on his 3-bet.

Given that you probably have about 4.5ish out or so vs his 3-betting range (maybe even a tad higher) you have to call that 3-bet, and fold the river UI.

Without the gutshot, the turn raise could be a "Raise and its the last bet I put it" type raise, but not with the gutshot. I dont want to put myself in a position to put 3 BBs in with a pair of Ts.

EDIT: I think 4.5 might be a bit low. Its probably closer to 5. He doesnt have to be 3-betting AQ, AA/KK very often for it to be 5.

What about check/calling the flop and check/folding the turn?

NOT GOOD.

We are ahead of AK. We have a pair plus a gutshot.

We have more than enough equity vs his range to not fold in a raised pot.

But if we check call the flop were getting 5:1 on the turn with 5 or so outs right? Is the chance that villain has AK enough to fill in the rest?

Against AA/KK we have:

2 Ts
3 Js
4 9s

for 9 outs

(my 4.5-5 outs estimate is vs his turn 3 betting range, not his his turn betting range)
