Anyway, are any of you boxing fans gonna be at the WSOP? Maybe we could meet up at a sportsbook and watch a fight or two...

Just Wait that line is going to move just like you and I predicted. I am watching the line at Pinnacle and belive he is going to get down around -225 or even -200 (Crossing my fingers). That under 9.5 on the fight is looking better and better.

Have you seen the odds on Lance Whitaker vs. Luan Krasniqi? It is about even $. Whitaker is a big young (in respect to every other HW beside, Sam Peter) powerful guy. I have seen him fight a couple of time and if he is focused on the fight he is a legit top 5 or 6 HW. I don't know anything about his opponet, but I checked his fight records and I didn't recognize a single name. Plus he has a spilt in his last fight also he was fighting 8 round fights as early as 2003.This seems like a bet that might be flying under the radar.

What do you think?

I went out to Vegas for the WSOP last year and am kicking around the idea of going out again.

Whitaker is only two years younger than Krasniqi and has been around the block. He's a bit of a head case and remember he's fighting in Germany. He's a wide punching plodder who can bang a bit but who like Krasniqi has a suspect chin. Krasniqi had an extensive amateur background and sparred with both Klitchkos. He has fast hands and throws combinations. He has a bit of a stamina problem although so does Whitaker. I've got $25 on Krasnqi. If it goes the distance, Krasniqi by decision. He's going to have to fight a good fight in order not to get knocked out but if he uses his skill he should be able to pull it off.

Nice call Rockhard, Good thing I decided to not bet on this fight and save my money for the Kotzya/Hatton fight next week. I am going to remember for the future to stay away from anything/boxers who are mentally unstable.

Research, research, research....

The Kosta T, Hatton fight is a tough call but for those whose don't think hatton has a chance, think again. I'm betting on him in a 4 fight parlay which I've already won two. The other is the Mayweather fight and the Kosta fight betting on Hatton. I didn't bet much but the payoff is good if I hit the last two fights.

Default Why Kostya will win...

Rockhard, Hatton does have a chance. But that's all it is.

There is no such thing as a lock in betting. Everything has a chance of going either way. And Hatton is very tempting at +200. I even researched it to see if Hatton is a worthwhile bet and +EV. But he's not.

For one, Hatton doesn't throw jabs. You must throw jabs to win, especially vs. a counter puncher like Tszyu. All he throws are hooks and uppercuts. He's open to counters all day, one of KT's specialties.

KT also has more power than Hatton is used to. I've seen Hatton get hurt against guys with mediocre power on counters. KT has the power to put him down and the killer instinct to keep him down.

Hatton has power too, but he can only seem to KO bum opponents. The better fighters he's fought, like Ben Tackie and Vince Phillips (Phillips is KT's only loss), he didn't KO. They went the distance. I'm not sure Hatton can KO top tier opposition.

It should be a good match, but I don't think Hatton will win. There's too many holes in his game. His handlers have coddled him too much. He's still not ready, after 38 fights. I would have rather seen Hatton fight Junior Witter or Sharmba Mitchell. Maybe even Cotto. I just don't think he's ready for Tszyu.

The WSOP goes on for like a month or so right? Hmmmm which fights are happening in that time? If there is one worthwhile I'll be down to check out a fight. Me and my bro live in L.A. so it's no biggie to drive down there one weekend. I had actually planned to make a trip or two out to Vegas during the WSOP anyway. I expect the tables might be a lil bit fishier with all the hype, etc. I would play 2/4 more than likely, and those tables are already fishy on the normal weekends in Vegas lol.

Exactly my point.

Tackie and Phillips are the only world class opponents on Hatton's records and he didn't KO them. For that reason I don't think he can KO KT, who is also world class.

Tackie didn't beat KT. He did go the distance, but he got dominated the entire fight.

Phillips KO'd KT in the 10th, but ever since then we've seen a different KT. He said he's no longer underestimating his opponents and hasn't lost since.

I'm not too sure Hatton has faced anyone with KT's power either. KT is one of the hardest punchers P4P and I don't see anyone on Hatton's record in that category. And like I said he's been hurt by some mediocre punchers. So it'll be interesting to see if he'll be able to stand up against that laser right of KT, which will land several times in this fight. Hatton's style leaves him open for it.

Either way it should be a good match. Dunno if I'll order it. I'll probably find a sports bar somewhere to catch it.
