Please comment on KK play
Please let me know what you think about my oppenents KK play.
Situation: Game B&M $200 cap buy in $2/$5 blinds Villain U+2 ($600) leads out for $30 (above average open for this game) Hero MP1 (villain's immediate left $500) raises to $100. Folded to Villain who mini-raises to $200. A little history - the prior hand villain laid down a JJ, on a 347 board, his opponent showed him 5-5, and I could tell it bothered him. He may be smart enough to know that I think he may be on tilt. Anyway, in general how would you play KK here. Call, raise (how much?), or push. I assume noone folds. |

Re: Please comment on KK play
I like a call and then pot bet on the flop no matter what. I dont think he would do this with AK, but very well could with QQ, JJ.

Re: Please comment on KK play
I'm confused about who has KK here.
Anyway, if you have 400 behind, 100 more to call, and have KK, you've got two options: 1) push 2) smooth call and push any flop without an A in it. 3) fold. 3) is not usually an option unless you REALLY know your opponent. |

Re: Please comment on KK play
My opponent had KK, I raised to $100. The hand is more interesting from the villains perspective. If you have KK and open with a raise, and get reraised with appox 100 BB in play, what is your line? (against a decent player who doesn't get out of line too much, on this particular night any hand I had to show down that I raised with, I had a premium hand, JJ or better).

Re: Please comment on KK play
I think generally you don't want to be putting in a third raise pre-flop with KK - as it lets weaker hands off the hook - TT-QQ, AK - and usually only gets called by AA.

Re: Please comment on KK play
I think the tilter should smooth call, and push to a non ace flop, maybe even with an ace flop... if you have only been playing premium hands, JJ or better, maybe AKs, or even AQs depending if he puts you on a big pocket, or AK. With KK.... I am not going to put you on AA... if that is the case, then I loose money, but the odds of you having AA is so small (2% I think), and if you have big under pair then you need to chase me down.
