Too aggressive with AQs or just right?
SB was 23/11/2 after about 130 hands. The other two participants were total donks. Was the PF cap a little much? With position and two really bad opponents it seemed ok at the time.

Re: Too aggressive with AQs or just right?
Preflop: Sometimes I'd just call the 3-bet, because I think I am going to be up against AA-QQ/AK a significant amount of the time. However, you do have position, three opponents, and a good multiway hand, and I think the cap is all right.
Postflop: This looks good to me. You are going to discover on occasion that you bullied SB into calling you down with a better hand (KK) or an equal one (AQ). (By the time you 3-bet his flop checkraise, he's going to be worried about AA or a set of queens.) But UTG+1 is at least still contributing those times that you're tied with SB, and I think SB will have a hand like JJ/TT/KQ that you beat often enough. Once in awhile you'll get checkraised on the river by UTG+1's T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], and once in awhile you'll be surprised when he just calls with a scared two pair and the pot goes his way. And, like I said, it's possible that you don't have SB beat. But, anyway, I do think you have a value bet on the river. |

Re: Too aggressive with AQs or just right?
very well played. I like the cap PF because of the multiway pot. I think you have enough of an overlay to do this here. The rest of it is just fine. nh sir

Final Pot: 19 BB Hero shows [ Qs, As ] a pair of queens. SB shows [ Kc, Kh ] a pair of kings. UTG+1 shows [ Jc, 9h ] a pair of nines. SB wins $73 from the main pot with a pair of kings. Turns out I did scare SB into calling with a better hand. I kind of had a bad feeling after he CR'd the flop. But I at least knew that UTG+1 was calling with worse hands, so I kept betting like I had the best hand and hoped for the best. |
