So my problem is this...In both, one-table- and mtt-tournaments at the point when blinds are getting big compared to stacks (avg. stack ~12xbb) and lots of people are on all-in mode, i often find myself in a situation where i have KQ and:
1. Im med. stack and small stack goes all in and its folded to me 2. It's folded to me in LP and blinds are small stacks 3. 2. It's folded to me in LP and blinds are big stacks 4. Im small stack and folded to me 5. Im small stack and its raised before me Heh...i could go on and on...and still every single time im as lost as ever...because i figure when it's raised to me, it often is from Ax or pp, both of which im behind...and if someone calls my raise, im as likely behind also... So help me guys...what the heck must i do with this sticky hand??? Thanks in advance... |

I think posting specific hands is a better idea. Get a better sense of each situation.

when it's unopened it looks good enough for me to push.
if someone opens I need folding equity to play on generally... |

K-Q is a very overrated hand in this spot. This is certainly a phase where A-J is better and 8-8 is far better (only against specifically 9-9, T-T and J-J is K-Q significantly better).
Play K-Q in the same situations as you would A-T or 6-6 at this stage. In other words, pretty cautiously, I guess. lars |

This seems to be a hand that I would not call an all-in with, but certainly one that I would happily attempt to steal the blinds with. Make a raise about 5xBB in LP and force the SB and BB into a decision basically for all their chips. KQ is a nice hand when there's only 2 people left to act. If you get played back at, you're still usually in good shape. BB or SB with short stack might be pressed to call with Kx or Qx because they're getting blinded out and need to double up now. They'll even play J9, JT, etc. Of course they'll play any A or PP, but that's a risk you'll have to take. At least the SB or BB won't bust you here, and you have a chance of busting one of them and increasing your stack a comfortable amount.
