Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Nak is CO with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

River: (14 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, MP2 bets, Nak calls, SB folds, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 17 BB

About ten hands later, there's a 4 with a 4-flush on board. SB starts in on me:

SB: "You gonna call down with 44 again nak?"
Nak: "Always"
SB: "Not afraid of the four-flush?"
Nak: "Never"
SB: "Just call down like a donkey"

Heh, I wasn't even in the hand. I love this game.

Nak

I don't really care for the intital CC PF, so 'fold pf'.

Can I ask what chapter of SSHE tells you to call down with a baby underpair on a 4 straight/4 flush board? That one must have been forgotten in my copy.

Okay, here is the reference. SSHE p. 81

"Against A Raise ...
if three players have entered the pot (the raiser and at least two callers), also call with any pocket pair and QJs-T9s."

I think Ed means two cold callers. But if the table is loose enough, I think I like your play. Not too sure about the post flop call down, but I don't really know what I would do either.

Really? He doesn't say that. If anything two cold-callers makes my hand weaker doesn't it?

I'm getting 18:1 for my flop call. Implied odds are probably enough to draw to trips, but I also have backdoor flush and straight draws. On the turn, I pick up a flush draw and a gutshot straight draw (plus I still have outs to trips). Yes, some of these might be dirty, but I'm getting 11:1 on my call. Here is another reference.

SSHE p. 147-148 "Adjusting to Large Pots ...

3. Continue to draw even when you suspect you might be drawing dead."

Are we all reading the same book?

Yes, you are just being overly optimistic, that's all.

yes, agree. Maybe it's just me, but I'd ditch this hand PF pretty quickly since every overcard is scary, a straight is possible, flush board...know when to make a stand/fight your battles. You got a GREAT flop (no real high cards) yet you still have no idea how you stand and are in constant fear of every card that falls.

I make this call with loose players behind me (which is often), and I like every street until the river. You have the lowest possible flush - I don't see you winning here enough to call. You're not calling the flop or turn because of your flush outs.

PF I like to have two cold-callers before it gets to me.

flop: there's enough in that pot to draw to a full house alone.

turn: you still have two outs to a full house, but now have 3 more outs to a gutshot straight. 10:1 is enough to call again.

river: I don't understand the call. If you think you're beating MP1 more than 7% of the time, you have to raise to force a higher flush to fold.
