you've said that the cash tables never run though, right?

I was able to start a game up fairly quickly before one of the $1 tournaments a couple weeks ago. People coming in, sitting down, and asking me how the game is played.

Yeah, cash games rarely go. I ended up out of the money (18th/50) in today's TDL tournament. The 75432 against idiots happened very early (3rd hand of tourney) and gave me the chip lead. I got very little else, played much tighter than everyone else (not cold-calling to draw 3 and 4) and had a couple of strong one-card draws brick up. Once you are past the break, the blinds are so frigging high that one bad hand cripples you and the second one puts you out :{

The guy with the big chip lead when I went out is someone I've played before in draw tournaments-a very loose, very aggressive player. He is from the "chip lead or out" school of MTT play.

UPDATE: LAG finished 5th.

I've played two of these tourneys, and I'm still amazed at how bad the players are. I'm pretty sure I've never lost with any 8 at showdown.

Really though, it hardly matters how bad the players are since it's nearly impossible to get more than 20 BB at any point during the tourney. So, it's a fun tournament and almost certainly +EV for anyone that can even come close to breaking even at .25/50, but I think everyone'll have fun bubbling in these things pretty often.

Additionally, I've never seen a cash game running that I didn't start. That sounds negative, but there's a huge upside. Almost everyone that sits down is just trying out the game for the first time. I've probably played there less than 2 hours and am up something like 100 BB at 1/2. The only losing session I had was when someone played 5 hands and quit.
