Default First Vegas Trip

I'm trying to organize a Vegas trip for a few of my poker friends (probably around 5-10 of us). What is the best way to go about this? It seems like a casino should want us there so I'm assuming there's a way to get a cheap ticket in combination with a hotel room. We'd probably play around the 5-10 to 10-20 limits. We're winning players in random casino's in the midwest so we'd be there to try and make money. This means the softer the poker room the better but we're also there for a good time so a nice place with good comps is also important.

Thanks

Have fun in Vegas man. I don't know much about group rates, but I do know I've heard that the MGM Grand has some suites that larger groups stay in all the time, and apparently these are a good deal. For NL games of the size you have indicated, you'll have to look to the higher end card rooms... Mirage, Wynn, Bellagio, etc.

There are a lot of poker rooms in Las Vegas these days, but for those limits, you'll probably want to think about Mirage, Bellagio, Wynn, MGM Grand, and possibly Orleans. Most of other rooms offer mostly 2/4-4/8 and 1/2 NL games.

Keep in mind that you don't have to stay where you play, but if you are planning on playing a lot many casinos offer a "poker room rate" for players that play a certain number of hours in the card room per day. Also, you can combine the hours of play for everyone in the room. So if the casino wants 5 hours a day and you have three guys in the room, 2 hours each will do it.

Call the card rooms directly and ask about the poker rate. You can find the phone numbers at http://www.allvegaspoker.com

Suites are not a bad way to go for a lot of guys, but you may not be able to get a poker room rate for a suite. Feel free to call the hotels and ask what they have, the booking agents are super friendly.

Is there anything else that is a priority for you that would help limit the choices?

For playing poker you can usually get a "poker rate" which is sometimes also called a "rack rate", and normally $1/hr for food. It is not like you are playing blackjack for $50 hand.
Many casinos just installed poker rooms this past year since its popularity. So call around for the best deal.
