I recently purchased an NVIDIA 6800 Ultra (I'm not very frugal) to go along with my 2nd Dell 2001FP. Problems with dual-monitor setup ensued. Long story short the eVGA (company that uses NVIDIA chipsets) support guy tells me that "all" of the cards they make are incompatible with dual 2001's. That is exactly what he said, but maybe he meant all of a particular family (i.e. Geforce"x"). I can give details of my problems if anyone cares, but I just wanted to pass on this little tidbit of information. I now return to the shadows...

WTF? I bought an XFX Geforce 6600GT w/ Dual DVI and I have dual 2001FPs. Am I likely to have issues or is it an eVGA problem?

What incompatability problem are you having?

[/ QUOTE ] The way the support guy talked I think there is a good chance you will. He said he had dealt with numerous people with this problem, and they are waiting for NVIDIA to fix it. (so if NVIDIA needs to fix the problem it probably isnt eVGA specific). However, it's hard to believe I am the first person on 2+2 running dual 2001's with a late model NVIDIA card, so maybe some people don't have this problem. |

What incompatability problem are you having? (as if it was any of my business) [/ QUOTE ] It will work fine for a bit, but then it will begin to flicker blue and start looking really ugly. Then the monitor will say "no signal" (or something very similar) and it will be black. However, the computer still behaves as though it were functioning (i.e. I can drag my mouse and windows off-screen in that direction, but i can't see it). When I first installed the card, it worked perfectly. Then after about 30 minutes the problems began. It's really weird because it will sporadically work. Either way, I RMA'ing and swallowing the restocking fee in favor of an ATI card. |

I've been running dual 2001fps on a 6600GT for months with no problems. I did have problems with pokertracker, but when I switched from using nVidia's software (nView, I think) to manage the multiple displays and just let windows do it, the problem went away.
