Hand 1. No reads. Pre-flop-call was a mis-click. Didn't pay attention to stacks.

I'm not laying down against the shortstack here, but I'd like to get the third player out of the hand. Getting your money in as a favorite may be unlikely, but the fact that you should be ahead here often makes it worth risking a bet to try to take down the pot. You have plenty of equity against UTG's range of hands even when behind. AA has you in bad shape (six outs) but against KK-77 you have ten outs. Leading and checking the flop both have some merit here. I think I prefer leading, because I'm not going to be very happy if I check, UTG bets, and MP1 calls.

I'd pot it. I'm plenty willing to play this all-in against the short stack. If the 3rd player comes along, I would probably put a blocking bet on the turn if I miss it and check/fold the river.

Oh well, I bet out for $5, short stack pushed, the other guy folded. I did not improve, he showed A A and MHING.
Thanks all |

[ QUOTE ]
what's a blocking bet? [/ QUOTE ] Usually executed OOP on the river if you have a good but not great hand. It basically means that you bet as much as you are willing to call, usually 1/3-1/2 pot. If you are raised you can safely drop it since a re-raise bluff is quite rare. If you check the hand, he might bet more than 1/3-1/2 and it could very well be a bluff. Basically, it's a bet that prevents bluffing. |

Bets. You have an overpair and an open ended straight draw.
He's probably on big slick or AQ. If he's ahead, you've got ten outs to beat him. Then again, you don't mind picking the pot up right here. Bet $5. EDIT: Didn't notice the other dude. Advice still stands though. |
