87s failed to see missed flush draw?
Is hero in this case a complete moron for failing to bet the turn and failing to raise the river?

Re: 87s failed to see missed flush draw?
The only postflop street that I really like here is the turn. I don't really like going for free cards with straight draws since they are hard to see when they come in. So if the turn in this hand is the 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], it will look like a harmless card to everyone else and you will get lots of action. When you flop a flush draw, people tend to slowdown when the 3rd suited card hits but this isn't so when the less obvious straight filler hits.
I would call the flop to see if I can get the SB and BB come along. Turn check is fine...take your free card. The river is probably worthy of a raise in this spot. You would expect UTG+2 to bet the river with anything that he would potentially overcall with, so trying to get the most out of MP2 looks to be the way to go here. If he has a flush, that is the breaks. Brad |
