Default Flopped TPTK hu in the bb against a UTG raise

When I played this one I thought it was probably a way ahead/behind situation so I was planning on check-call, check-call, bet, but UTG screwed that up on the turn. Is this one too passive? I've only got 8 hands on UTG, so just assume he's a LA-P. Thanks.

I wouldn't assume way-behind here. That flop probably scared him as much as it scared you so I'd raise it.

This is not really WA/WB. Here if you're behind you have about 5 outs, and the board is very drawy. I check raise the flop.

I would not adopt WA/WB here. Villain could have something like A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in which case your flop check-raise (the play I would make) will not run him out of the pot.

Thanks all, I figured it probably wasn't WA/WB when I looked at the hand later.

I would c/r the flop.

I don't think this is a WA/WB situation.
You are much more often WA and you will only be up against a flush or overpair very rare on the flop (he's LA-P you said, so doesn't mean he has something good to raise with UTG)

Since most people automatically bet the flop when they raised preflop and it gets HU I would c/r.
He will call you down with a singe [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] with AK or AJ.
I think that is profitable to c/r and then bet the turn yourself if he calls.
If a 4th heart falls I would check/call down.

Three bet PF, Raise the flop.

You cannot do both.
Since most players usually bet when they raised preflop,
betting preflop doesn't get you more bets in.
Read this article for more on that topic.
