Default How do you like the turn raise?

I've played very little limit ring in the past several months because I have been focusing on NL.

$3/$6, 7-handed
Hero is UTG+1 with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG, Hero, and CO limp, SB completes and BB(villain) checks.

Flop (5 small bets): 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, Villain bets, UTG folds, Hero calls, CO and SB fold

Turn: (3.5 big bets) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villain bets, Hero raises, Villain 3-bets, Hero calls.

Basically I'm raising to move Villain off of TPWK. His 3-bet lets me know I'm behind, but I have up to 14 outs now. Maybe this hand is very straightforward, but it's mostly a check-up for me since I'm a bit rusty with limit ring. Comments?

The pot is barely big enough to draw, much less invest extra bets against an unknown who will probably fold the best hand never.

Never gonna happen. Just call the turn.

Fair enough. I was concerned about playing limit with my NL hat on. My NL tendencies are to make a play for the pot on the turn when I have plenty of outs to back it up, but I forgot how futile an attempt this is in limit. Good point about the pot size too. Thanks for the feedback - exactly what I needed.

Wow, NL has spoiled you. In limit, the fish don't fold top pair. Ever. Period. End of story.

You've got 4.5:1 on a draw and you'll have to hit to win. This is the time to call. Raise the turn if you hit, and either call or fold if you miss, depending on your read. In this case, I think the river would be an easy fold UI.
