Default Home Game

In a Home Game
50 NL .24/.50 blinds

i had KK and raised to $2 from early position (6 people)
button calls, bb calls

9K9

BB checks, I check, button checks

J

BB bets 6, i min raise, button folds, JJ minraises again, i move in, he calls

he shows JJ

he proceeded to reload and tilt

i couldn't help but wonder if i was on his side? could i avoid being stacked? or are these bad beats impossible to survive? would anyone ever release jacks there?

When this happens to me, I generally river a jack and then taunt the loser. This is my favourite play in holdem. Small sample size though.

Rivering a jack wouldn't accomplish anything in this instance.

Letting go of the jacks seems like a pretty easy move here.

Depends on stack sizes. I would definatly just call your min.raise and call whatever you bet on the river. An EP-raise, flop check, turn min.raise screams MONSTER!

BTW, if you usually bet the flop as PFR, I would bet this flop to.

letting go of Jacks full seems pretty hard to me in a six handed game. I can even imagine that this guy didnt realise there was a possible better hand out there. But even if, shorthanded, IŽd take my chances with a hand as such.

I would have played it differently preflop though if I was him. With QQ and JJ, I like to raise preflop. If you get a call and thereŽs an overcard to your pair on the flop, you can be certain youŽre beat and fold to any raise witout a second thought.

Hero raised pf with the Kings. He was saying that the Villain should have re-raised with the Jacks (I agree, since it's 6 handed).

I would not lead out on the flop though (with the Kings), although that is my normal strategy when I'm the PFR. Here you have the deck crippled. You will only get action if someone turned trips. Better to either let them catch something or induce a bluff.
