betting the river here sucks. you're not a favorite when called. either check to induce a bluff if he's aggro or check/fold if he's passive.

I would just have checked the turn.

I think it's too optimistic to think you still have the best hand on the turn against three opponents. Another problem with betting is that if you are raised you can't fold since the pot will be too big. Without any strong outs there you could argument for betting and folding to a raise, but with outs I think this an easy turn check.

betting that turn is bad. :P. 3 people called you on the flop. betting w/ unimproved AK into 3 flop callers on the turn is a huge mistake

you should have check/called the turn for 1 bet (remember you have 10 possible outs probably closer to 7 or 8 because someone might have you reverse dominated but still enough to warrant call getting near 8-1.

then check fold the river unimproved.

Betting this turn into this many opponents is bad. Check-fold the turn.

I pretty much never check the flop after raising pre-flop if I haven't been reraised.

Checking the flop is way too weak, you have to clear out underpairs just in case you are reverse dominated. Plus sometimes you are value betting the flop and turn.

You have to check the river.

Check-fold the turn.

Check-fold? Hero's got a gutshot + overcards. No way he can fold, at least not for one bet.
