How have the Detroit rooms been the past few months?
I've been totally out of the loop. Any game changes, rule changes, room expansions or contractions, funny stories, etc?

Dunno how long you've been out. Windsor opened their room in February. MGM is going to expand their room as well (into where the bar is now).

Ok then, I guess that clears it up.
I know they didn't before, but thought my man was saying they got one within the last few months. |

3/6 at Greektown plays like Party .50/1.00. Not that this is news.....
NL 100max buy in 1/2 blinds has at least 6 Oakleys and hats at each table, opening raise with KQ is $ 20.00 . |

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm moving to Ann Arbor in the fall and am interested in how soft the games are in the Detroit area. I've played 3-6 and 4-8 on the other side of the state but never at Greektown or Motor City (or Windsor for that matter).

Re: How have the Detroit rooms been the past few months?
I play all over. When Motor City expands it's room, Detroit will surpass Tunica for mid-level and various no-limit action. ALREADY, there is more of the aforementioned action at Greektown and Motor City, than Horseshoe Tunica, especially during weekdays. Let us hope Motor City continues on it's current management path, when it expands. Motor City has the potential to be THE major poker room, between New Jersey and the Mississippi river.

[/ QUOTE ] I'll go as far as to say that $3/$6 is easier than party .5/1. Add the rake and they're probably about even. Those 1/2NL tables are hilarious. I've probably only spent about 20 hrs total on them and have enough funny stories to write a book. Even with the $6 every half hour those games are incredibly beatable, when you have people willing to put all their chips in with any top pair. |
