What's your read on him?

Start off by raising the flop though. Against a maniac I call down, against loose passives I can find a fold. Against unknowns I go inbetween, so I'm not sure.

Raise the flop, first off. You are behind a random two pair or a set, and JJ is unlikely because only the most passive players limp that pre-flop.

Given the way you played it, I probably just call down from the turn (barring a rivered set). I have no idea what the BB has, but he seems to like it, and has shown nothing but unbridled agression once the flop came. Somehow I doubt he's overplaying top pair (or worse)... but maybe he is (especially if he has something like A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]).

(If it is two pair, you do have a change to counterfiet it on the river, but that is always risky since it's even odds he fills up in that instance.)

I admit I was caught slowplaying on the flop to keep more people in considering the raggedness of it, but I agree in hindsight I should've raised.

Slowplaying what? Your hand is very vulnerable and is most definitely not strong enough to slowplay. You don't want people taking their 5 out draws or whatever else they have.

Folding the turn getting 1:12 would be bad.

Moreover, given the fact that Hero didn't raise the flop, I'll cap this turn against any opponent & lead the river.

Hero caps, BB calls.

River: (15.20 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 17.20 BB

Here is what I did.

You have to raise that flop! Slowplaying is almost always a bad idea. Even with a set, you usually shouldn't slowplay, and certainly not with just an overpair. Your hand's too vulnerable.

I play the same. I think he'll either show you a set, QQ or a mistake most of the time.

Are you planning to fold the river UI then? If not, you're getting 13:2 to call down, think it's enough against an unknown 3bet?

edit to add: I should say that against unknowns I call this down more often than not. Should have thought about that more for my original post.
