Trash talking = +EV??

Say hypothetically you sat at a table, playing 100% your normal game, but taking every opportunity to insult/degrade your opponents. No cussing, nothing that will make them play better (aka being mad about a suck out) but rather do call them wimps and female genitalia for folding and stuff.

Don't you think this would losen up the table? As people would begin playing everything in a desperate attempt to beat you? As long as you didn't lose your cool wouldn't this be +EV?

It is only +EV to insult someone who has been insulting the table. If you insult everyone you will likely just make them leave the table.

It would only be +EV for TC's and pro-copying douchebags. If you trash-talk a tourist, his goal is no longer to have fun, but to beat you, so he plays better.

The best players - Daniel, Phil Ivey, Jennifer - they just keep their smile on as they drag chips..

if someone gives me TT, though, I like to return it - usually in the form of "I'm soory, I couldn't hear you ... I was too busy stacking your chips."

I believe turning the chat totally off is +EV. At least for me
