Default Standard $100NL hand - drawing to straight

Pretty standard stuff, replies are appreciated.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

UTG+1 ($316.2)
UTG+2 ($105.75)
MP1 ($101.1)
MP2 ($95)
MP3 ($139.69)
CO ($100.7)
Button ($170.55)
SB ($98)
BB ($79.97)
Hero ($108.85)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2</font>, UTG+1 calls $2, UTG+2 calls $2, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls $2, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, SB (poster) calls $1.50, BB calls $1.

Flop: ($12) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(6 players)</font>
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets $4</font>, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls $4, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds.

Turn: ($20) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets $8</font>, Hero calls $8.

River: ($36) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $10</font>, MP2 calls $10.

Final Pot: $56

OK so raising utg was a bit creative but it was a passive table.

Who would bet the flop?
Fold the turn?
How about the river bet?

What's the best line in a multi way pot like this with a well concealed hand?

i hope you're only making this play preflop occassionally.

make a continuation bet on the flop, just as if you had AA. that's the whole point of you raising it UTG preflop to begin with.

i'm not folding for either of those bets from MP

pot the river, you need to make some money to make up for the -EV plays of prior streets and all the other times you play this hand and miss.

Agreed.

Well I think since he got 5 callers preflop this isn't as true. He is out of position against 5 other players.

I don't think potting the river is correct. If his calling isnt +ev simply based on the pot odds at the time and the implied odds of a simple value bet on the river, then he shouldn't be playing the hand to the river in the first place. I don't think that trying to compensate by making a pot-sized bet on the river is the right idea.

i didn't notice until now that it was a min-raise preflop. it makes no sense.

I don't think I'd pot the river unless I felt I could sell Villain on a busted flush draw bluff, in which case I'd slightly over bet the pot. Villain has $81 left, so I'd go $45 or $50. But more likely I'd make it about $25. Post Oak bluffs don't make you money when you have the nuts.

Hero loses money if he plays like this routinely.

On the turn, hero calls an $8 bet with an open-end straight draw. Hero is 5:1 against making his hand on the turn. Hero needs to make $40 to justify calling $8.

Hero ends up making $38.

Turn/river combo is -EV.

Hero needs to bet ~pot on river in order to justify turn call.

the best thing about playing unorthodox and then making a hidden straight on the river is that you cannot easily be put on a hand. all that deception is completely senseless if you aren't going to take advantage of it when you hit. pot the river.

Whatever the villain had, you definitely let him off the hook on the river.
