Default AC recommendation

Ive searched threads but want to make sure I got the right answer. My wife has agreed to go to AC tonight on short notice. I want her to have a good time, and I want to make some money. Neither of us wants to wait forever for a game.

I want to play a soft low limit game from 5/10 to 10/20. She's a 2/4 player and mostly keeps me company at the cardroom. The HUGE issue for her is playing in a friendly cardroom where women are not singled out by dickhead locals. (Last time we were in Vegas, I almost got in a fight with some guy over this issue.)

Bottom line: the Trop works for all of our requirements, the Borg is good for everything except it has long lists, and we should stay away from the Taj unless I want to be wearing the steel bracelets.

Do I have it right?

i think there are just as many dickhead locals at the Trop as the Taj, if not more.

The trop is alright. If you are spending the right, stay anywhere but the ascot.

The Borgata has not had long lists the last few times I played there. Sunday and Wednesday when I played at the Borgata the room had open seats in the $10 games.

If you do play at the Borgata tonight, and you see a guy in with glasses and a baseball cap using a pyramid to protect his cards, say hello to me

The Trop does not spread a higher hold em game then $6-$12 (I think), although this could have changed since I have played there last.

The Taj is not that bad. You will feel safe if you choose to play there.

Trop had a 10/20 game going for a little bit when I was there a few weeks ago.

Taj is not as bad as some here make it out to be. Certainly not the highest class card room in town, and maybe it does have a higher number of degenerates, mainly because of its large size, but in my experience, if you don't look for trouble there, it won't search you out.

Very true. Also, the Taj always has a great 10-20 game. The Trop only spreads it sporadically.

The trop is a good place. I know a lot of people complain about the service which can be slow. I had a great time, it was my first venture into a B&M cardroom and I had a blast. I played $2/$4 and managed to walk out with a good amount. Most of the people I sat with were quite personable, a few that took it too seriously and a few realized that I was slowly taking their money by playing TAG, but all in all a fun time. Good luck

I played at Taj Friday night, and someone from my table couldn't stand the wait for 10/20 at Borg Friday night (line was barely moving, about 30 people he said), so he came to Taj.

The late night game was loose agressive (capped preflop 5-6 people every other hand).

Not sure where to put this, and I don't want to get yelled at for not searching, but I'm going to be in AC the first weekend in June, and am trying to find the right game to play in.

I have graduated from 2/4 live, and have been playing 3/6 in AC or 4/8 at Foxwoods. I have a small mental block against playing 5/10 yet, and I'm wondering if there's a casino in AC where I could find a decent 4/8 game. If not, I can suck it up and play 3/6 at the Taj, or if you guys really convinced me, I could try and earn some extra money on my trip and play 5/10 somewhere, but I'm wary of moving too fast. Yes, I realize the similarity between 4/8 and 5/10, and that's still the way I feel.

Tropicana always has a 4,8 game
Taj didn't seam to have one yesterday. Went from 3,6 to 5/10 then 10.20 (where I played and took a beating for reasons that are beyond me today, the cards just didn't line up)

The games play the same, but the mental block is real, and the mistake that MOST people make is going up in limits to fast with an inadaquet bankroll. remember a 4,8 game takes about a 2400 dollar bankroll (not buy in, that is much less) , If you are moving up faster than that with your bankroll you are treating your poker bankroll like a tournement entry fee and it will get flushed...
