Default THE WORLDS BIGGEST TOOL @ THE TABLES

Played in my usual free bar tourney last night... good times as usual. This is a $0 buyin... and winner gets a chance to play in another tourney to get a chance to play in a tourney for some cash. Not exactly high stakes here. Typically a very laid back vibe as it's about half regulars who all play cash games outside the bar.

Well.. there are occationally some people who bust out sunglasses or something, but they're typically laughed out of the place as there's really no reason for that in a free friendly bar game. Last night presented something special, however.

Last night the good lord gave us "Rico" (no joke.... that was his name).

Rico was about a 45 year old man with a long ponytail, backwards Pokerstars hat, HUGE wraparound mirrored shades, the gaudiest 12k Gold rings coated with diamond chip on nearly every finger, a huge gold chain dangling around his neck outside of his "SouthPole" shirt.

The best part was Rico came prepared. He had his fancy card cover, but most importantly Rico brough not only his intense demeanor which somehow managed to perfectly mock the "WPT" act (dramatic pauses for every action, hardcore staredowns for no reason, etc)..... but Rico brought his own chips.

Yes, Rico brought 8 $1 chips from the local Hollywood Casino that he had apparently purchased to shuffle while he's playing. Why this tool would buy chips to bring to a game so he could shuffle them (when presumably he would have chips in front of him) is beyond me but the vision of Rico was absolutely priceless.

Rico was so entertaining that I had to snap a quick photo with a friend's cameraphone.

Rico emulates pros so much that I thought it would be funny to have some pros bust on him

I love those stare downs for no reason when you KNOW he holds garbage and is going to fold, but still wastes everyones time thinking about it.

Also, wearing shades in a $0 buy in tourney is an added bonus.

Rico is typical of about 30% of the players at the Oaks Club. Maybe I'm underestimating.

Seriously... it's bad enough at a low limit table, but in a free tourney?

Good stuff....

I wish I was wearing my "Why the hell are you wearing a hat and sunglasses at a 3/6 table" shirt

Not only do I love the caption of the old lady playing Q3 suited, but I love that "suited" is in quotes.

How can you make fun of the lady? I mean, her cards are suited, right?

He used to play Horseshoe quite a bit. He plays the Gold Strike 1-2 NL quite a bit. I've seen him at Gold Strike and he brings 10 Horseshoe chips with him to shuffle. He told me he likes the "texture" of the Horseshoe chips better than Gold Strikes. He's actually not that bad of a player to tell you the truth. It's an act more than anything. Last time I was in Vegas I bought a cheap "Las Vegas" t-shirt before I went to play at Bellagio. I didn't do any chip "tricks" and tried my best to act like a tourist. Worked for me. This seems a little weird in a free tourney with no prize though. At least I was playing 20-40.
