Horrible QQ laydown on 3 to a straight Turn?
BB is a TAG, CO is a very bad calling station
If was trying to be paying off less against turn raises, but I think I picked an aweful spot to do so: Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, CO calls, Button calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, BB calls. Flop: (8.33 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls, Button calls, BB calls. Turn: (6.16 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls, Button folds, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, Hero folds, CO folds. Final Pot: 10.16 BB |

Re: Horrible QQ laydown on 3 to a straight Turn?
Agreed; this is NOT the time to fold.
There are only three possible straights here: 76 J7 QJ A TAG knows better than to play a 76 or J7 against a preflop raise, and a QJ is far less likely than usual, given that you've got two of the queens. Worst-case scenario, you're facing a set, at which point you've still got six draws to a winner with 10:1 pot odds. Call down unless you hit the river, at which point you should lead it. |

Anyway, i think that this is a bad fold. You have a 6 outer vs. a set, and 6 more outs against 910/810 or another two pair. And he could be getting out of line with A10. |

Re: Horrible QQ laydown on 3 to a straight Turn?
hands BB could have, followed by your outs versus each:
22 - 3 combos, 6 outs TT - 3 combos, 6 outs 88 - 3 combos, 6 outs T9s - 2 combos left, 12 outs T8s - 2 combos left, 12 outs 89s - 3 combos left, 12 outs 76s - 4 combos, 4 outs QJo - 8 combos, 1.5 weighted outs (drawing to a chop) QJs - 2 combos, 1.5 weighted outs J7s with a discount factor for likelihood being lower 99 with a similar discount factor it looks close, any chance you're ever ahead here? |

Re: Horrible QQ laydown on 3 to a straight Turn?
Rather than just saying... Bad Fold, which I think it is considering the Pre-Flop action - He only called. So a TAG in that Spot doesn't have AA or KK, If he hit his trips... Pay him down in this spot, You can't guarantee he did. If he's a Real TAG he probobly re-raises with 10's under as well, so that leads to..
What did you put him on? |

ok I did the math wrong, if you consider that he's not as likely to have QJo here then it's a SUPER easy call

Re: Horrible QQ laydown on 3 to a straight Turn?
Alright, I did some Pokerstove with various hand ranges and it comes down to this: if he is not capable to make this raise with at least AT or weaker I do not have equity to call him down, although it is very close. So against a loose passive player this might be a fold, I definately agree that versus a TAG this is a calldown.
