Raising the semigaybet
Sorry Grisgra I can't remember what you finally decided the gaybet should be called, and I still love the term.
Party 5-10 6 handed, all passive except the BB who's laggy. I open-raise in the cutoff with QJo, SB and BB both call. Flop is AT9 rainbow, I bet, only the BB calls. Turn is another T, he bets into me, I call. River is a 2. He bets into me I raise... Mikey likes it? Chiz |

Re: Raising the semigaybet
If he's LAGy, what better hand are you going to get to fold here? The only conceivable hands that may fold are small pairs and K-high, and this guy may not even fold those. I think more often you get mercilessly 3-bet here than you fold out a better hand. Even without the 3-bet, that's another BB you just handed his slightly-less-crappy-than-yours hand. I don't mind calling, but raising seems like a bad idea to me.

Re: Raising the semigaybet
Calling is bad here too, all we beat is utter and complete trash.
If you have a specific read the raise might be feasible...as it is I think it is chip spewing... you'll get called by some junk like 33 here and just be wasting bets to the lag. Surf |

Re: Raising the semigaybet
Yeah, I'm assuming a complete moron LAG here, which is probably not a good assumption. If he's not a total idiot, you're beat here. You see so much crazy stuff sometimes though. . .makes it hard to lay down hands sometimes.

He is a complete moron lag. Not sure it makes the play right though.

Re: Raising the semigaybet
i think this is one of the worst moves ever.
that might be harsh, but is he really going to fold anything here? most likely you're either getting called and losing or getting reraised...oh ya, and losing. |
