Converter's weird so I'll just sum it up.
Four handed PP 400 NL, no reads Hero is dealt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on button. UTG folds, Hero raises to $8, SB calls, BB calls. Flop 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB bets $4, Hero raises to $20, SB goes all-in for $200. BB folds, Hero calls. Turn J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] River Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Results in white: Hero shows 99 for three of a kind nines. Villian shows KK for straight nine to king. |

You played it fine. I like the raise of the BB, because if the preflop raiser is pretty passive, and doesn't protect his preflop raise, you're letting the BB see the turn for way too cheap. Also, the flop raise could be indicative of a really nice draw, as there are several on the board (i.e. a straight-flush draw). I'm sure that's what the SB interpreted it as, and therefore went all in to protect his KK.
It looks like the SB originally checked his KK on the flop... he pretty much played the hand as badly as it can be played. Obviously the call of the all-in was correct. He just got lucky. |
