How should my tournament strategy change for a mtt with a single rebuy and single add-on?

Should I get the rebuy as soon as drop below the starting chips, or wait until I bust? Should I always add-on?

Personally, I'd always add on, and take my chips on my single add on right away. Might never get another chance, and I want to be able to break any other guy that rebuys right away at any time. Might as well have the maximum amount of weapons at all times, never know when your big hand will come and you'll wish you had them.

I have always taken the rebuy right away and always added on.

The one thing I wish was if you could tell who has rebought already vs those that have only been playing with the starting chips but have the rebuy to fall back on. It may change the way they and you may play the hand. Know that if they bust out they are done or if they can play aggressive with a saftey net.
