It would depend on the circumstances.

If I was in Nazi occupied France I wouldn't take up arms agaisnt American Liberaters. If I was in China when Japan invaded in the 1930s I would.

If that insurgency decided to kill hundreds of my own country's innocent women and children for simply political reasons (as has happened in Iraq repeatedly), then HELL NO. Those insurgents would then be called "terrorists" in my book.
