Notes say(Reads for past 20hands seem to confirm this still):
UTG - Seems Loose/Aggressive (reraise a9o) Mp2 - Loose(Fit or fold kind of player)/agressive also (Reraised(3bets) with JTo from SB ) Me = MP1 Preflop: UTG Raises, Folded to me, I call(2SB), Mp2 Reraises(3bets), UTG Caps, I call. Thoughts - Both could have anything and im more worried about Mp2 than UTG, 6outs to overcards if we dont discount(Something i need to work on/Think about!!) Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG Bets, I call, Mp2 raises, UTG calls, I call. Missed the flop, Pot exceeds7:1 im check-calling this. Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] One pair, Good kicker(Ace, Queen). UTG Checks, I check, Mp2 checks. River: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG Checks, i check, mp3 bets, UTG calls, I call. Main pot : $1.21 Thoughts? Will say if i won or lost soon |

Yeah, overcalling there is pretty terrible. Even if the bettor is bluffing, the 1st caller can't be. No way you're beating two people here with A high.
Edit: I don't even like cold calling with AQo here. I'd be more inclined to 3bet or fold. |

When someone overcalls on the river, ace high is rarely a good hand. The river better could be bluffing, but the player that calls him is not. If it's heads-up you have a decent chance of picking off a bluff, and AQ has decent showdown value HU in this situation.

I think it's safe to say never overcall the river with A-high.

Sorry, I perhaps threw in an extra adjative.
The more I look at this hand though, MP2 clearly is trying to steal the pot with his Ace after taking a free card and seeing another brick checked to him on the river. How good his kicker is I don't know. Who knows about UTG, but he probably dragged the pot with a small pair, maybe wired 4's or something. Then again, you're posting this hand and giving us "results later" so maybe YHIG. |

I'd 3-bet PF, and try to get HU against the serious LAG. Call the cap from either player, but keep this in mind. (Edit for further clarification: AQ is STRONG, and the way you play it here the only player seeing the flop that called 2 bets was you. And you did it TWICE! Put some pressure on the other guys with a strong hand.)
[ QUOTE ] Mp2 - Loose(Fit or fold kind of player)/agressive also (Reraised(3bets) with JTo from SB ) ... Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG Bets, I call, Mp2 raises, UTG calls, I call. [/ QUOTE ] This makes me nervous. You're getting JUST AT the odds you need to call with overcards, if you don't discount them at all, and I think that's a baaaaad idea. If MP2 is really fit-or-fold, then he caught some piece of this, and you have a huge reverse-domination problem (ignoring the rest of the hand). On the turn, either MP2 is being tricky with A7, or nervous with A5. Either way, you're hosed so letting it check through is smart. The river is pure spew, since MP2(?) decides nobody caught trips and is back to betting with whatever he caught on the flop. You're done. |
