Re: Playing a big stack adjustments
A big stack is generally regarded as greater than 100x to 120xBB. (I use 120x as my reference.) How to play deeper stacks differently than short stacks is a complex question. But a simple hypothetical question should get you moving in the right direction:
You're playing in a $5-10NL game. You are on the button with AA. You standard raised to $40 preflop, and are called by only the big blind. The flop comes down 56T rainbow. Opponent checks, you bet your standard continuation, say $60. Opponent moves all-in (given the numbers below, ignore how realistic this might be). What do you do now if: 1. You have $300 left, and your opponent covers you. 2. You have $850 left, and your opponent covers you. 3. You have $1500 left, and your opponent covers you. And as a twist: 4. Your opponent has $500 left, and you cover him. Talk amongst yourselves. |
