Default Flopping a straight

Mid-stages of a PL tourney. I'm in 20th place of 60 players with 1850 Chips. Blinds are 20/40. MP open raises with 80, cut-off calls, button calls, I call in the SB with JhQc, and the button folds.

Flop As Ks Tc

I lead out with a pot-sized bet which is folded to the button who calls.

Turn 10h

I bet 300 and am raised all in (he has about 1/3 of my stack). I had never played with him before, but so far in this tourney he was playing solid hands. I called and lost the showdown to his boat. All comments are appreciated.

2 minor things about the post. You said that the button called and folded pre-flop. I assume the big blind folded. Secondly on the turn it is not clear to me how many chips your opponent had left. I am guessing 300 compared to your 900 or so. It would clearer just to say it.

Now on the hand I think you need to call assuming it is 300. But if he only has 300 left then I would have made a bet to put him all-in on the turn.

One option on the flop is to go for the check-raise since it seems likely someone hit this flop. Leading out is also good.

I'll get the details right one of these days. 1) Yes, the button called and the bb folded. 2) On the turn, I had 1100 after betting out 300 chips. He had around 800 chips left.

Thanks Ken - I had the pleasure of playing at the same table with you in one of these tournaments last week.

Cheers,

Nelson

That was a great deal. I signed on only a few minutes before it started and saw it was a $5000 guarantee and only 15 or 20 signed up. We ended up only have 28 so UB kicked in $2200!

And my tourney ended when my steal with A4o found KK in the blinds!

Say hi the next time!

That was the same reason I played. I ended up sneaking into the final table in 10th place and finished in 4th. I was in third place at the time and open raised all-in with AKo. I lost to AQ suited when a queen came on the turn. But it was great fun, and I'll definitely say hello the next time.
