Funny, I thought that posting this would make me feel better, but it really hasn't. I guess that means that I am finally starting to accept the long term view of poker and rationalizing losses against EV. Like looking at the monster I lost to a miracle card as a +45 pot in the long term versus that one specific loss.

I had a day at lils last week that made me feel the same way. -300 playing 4/8 where almost every time i was going into the river with TPTK or better someone hit a longshot out to take down the pot. I was fairly frustrated by the time i left that night, but i knew i really couldn't have done anything differently. I chose to play at tulalip the next night for a change of pace and variance went my way and i made it all back.

I just wanted to say that we all have those frustrating days, sometimes several in a row. All you can really do afterwards is go over your notes and discuss a couple of hands and see if you couldn't have done anything better. If you don't think you could have, good, it is all variance and you can make that money back in the future. If you find things you [censored] up you know what to work on and maybe the next day you are missing you lose quite as much [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img].
