Default POLL: When do you start to lose sleep?

Everybody's had to have had a pretty lousy day or three. You get sucked out a few dozen times, lose a bunch of cash, and get so wound up you have a hard time getting to sleep. You curse at the screen (or across the table at your opponents) and maybe throw things.

How much of a loss would keep you up at night?

Just don't ask me for poker advice. I am good at everything else.

My thresholds for cursing, throwing things, and not sleeping are very, very different.

I put $10k because I've never had trouble sleeping after a loss, but I've never lost $10k in a day, either.

uh? it's just poker... sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I have found that downswings are followed by some sort of upswing and sooner, more often than, later I've made back what I've lost and more.

btw, poker content does not belong in OOT.

edit: you poll should be based on BBs and not $

You're right. Now the findings will never be published in the New England Journal of Pokar.

yah, it's funny. i won $500 one friday night. $500 again on saturday. but then on sunday i lost $800 and felt a pit in my stomach going to bed that night.

i couldnt frame it in my mind that i was up $200 for the weekend. i just kept thinking about how i lost $800 in the blink of an eye.

I've lost $2500 in about 30 minutes on a blackjack table. I was cardcounting at the time, too. I've also made $2500 in 30 minutes on blackjack.

Not possible. Whatever the number is I would never allow it to happen.

Maybe if my account got hacked and emptied, because it would leave me with no income. Still, I think I could get back on my feet within a few months.
