What is a good number of hands to get an accurate bb/100 rate?
I'm just wondering what is everyone's opinion for this. I've heard over and over 10k hands is way too little of a sample size. So I'm wondering how big of a sample size do you need to get a meaningful number. I'm assuming full-handed limit play of course. I'm also assuming that one's play does not differ from beginning to end of the sample size.

50K is the absolute minimum.
100K is better. more than that is even better. this missed the faq for some reason. read it if you haven't yet. and of course you can't change your style during those hands, or else it may not be accurate anymore. so either don't improve or don't fret over the # too much. |

Re: What is a good number of hands to get an accurate bb/100 rate?
If you want to know if your bb/100 is positive or negative, you'll probably know after 10-20K hands. But to pin it down to within even +/-1BB/100 you'll need something like 100-300K hands. But that number still won't be right because you probably will be a much better player by then, and a large fraction of your hands will have been played very poorly with a non-optimal winrate.
