moving up limits on party
So i have 11,000 hands at 15 30 and am averaging +2.23BB/100 hands so far. My question is, how tough is the 30 60 game at party compared to the 15 30? Is it just as beatable, or are there more grinders at that limit? Are there any other websites with games between 15 30 and 30 60 that are more beatable than the 30 60 at party? Thanks.

Russ [/ QUOTE ] 30 60 is much more aggressive, and lacks reliable loose-passive fish. The tough regulars are much better, and the games are very rarely "juicy." -James |

Re: moving up limits on party
i'm just going to advise you from moving up too fast. 11k hands at 15/30 is nothing. but if you really do want to move up to bigger games there isn't really a game like the party 15/30 out there.

Re: moving up limits on party
I play the 30/60 selectively(Only when the pot avgs are >6 BB or when there are 2+ obvious donators). Am I missing out on times when the games are more profitable than the 15/30?

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, i'm thinking of starting to play the game semi-regularly, but the wait list is still so ridiculous. how do you guys who play this game a lot do it? do you just play some 15 games while you're on the list or what? |

Re: moving up limits on party
OK guys, on your advice, I think i'll stick to the juicy 15 30 games for awhile longer. Thanks for the honesty. How many hands do you think I need at 15 30 before I move up.

Re: moving up limits on party
it's not about number of hands, it's about how you play compared to your opponents, and if you can't asses how you compare with some reliablity to a group of players at the level you want to play at, you probably shouldn't move up. Likewise if you have 10k hands at one level and te bankroll for the next, moving up is fine, so long as you have a reasonable belief that you cn beat the next level.
PS. No one use this advise to move up after 10k hands, cause it's not a likely scenario, if you've only got 10k hands and SHOULD be moving up, you likely know it. PPS it's stuff like this that keeps me at 15/30 as my initial foray has come back from 5k up to neutral. |
